Wedding Centerpiece Dilemma?? I have clear vases about 18in tall, and brown and orange beaded strands...?
and brown ribbon. The ribbon will go around the top and the beaded strands will go around the bottom. I am not a flower person so what could I put inside the vase besides just candles? my colors are chocolate, burnt orange, and ivory. Also I am not sure what candles to use? tea light, votive, or the tall skinny ones? I like tea lights because they are cheaper but i don't think it will be enough for the height of the vase?? thanks!

I would use long stemmed roses if you can afford, if not long stem carnations with sprays of cream lisianthus which is a rounded, multi layered pretty flower similar to a rose. Try a tall orange carnation with peach minis and the cream in the lisi or in the ranunculus which is one of the more inexpensive flowers. Roses, lillies, calla lillies, peonies, start to cost. Add to the orange carnations, peach mini carnation sprays, the ivory ran or lisi with greenery bells of ireland, long and curvy, beautiful and lots of tall brown/natural color curly willow, very tall. Also in bouquets/bouts add brown hypericum berries. Gerbera daisies are relatively inexpensive, but not tall enough, their big head tends to make them bend. There is also a chocolate cosmos, but you must check with florists in your area as to availabilty of flowers at each season of year. Use votives, and all do not have to be the same,look at thrift stores and yard sales if on a budget. I like them, mix with small brandy snifters, etc with candles in shades of orange and peach. Look for some table scatter or gems to go around and thru this. site http://www.save-on-crafts.com also has many branches, stems,cattails and pods, etc. http://www.fiftyflowers.com a good site to look at, but again check with florist. You can buy in bulk, but you have to plan on storage cutting stems, chilled, how to prepare,etc. and quality of flowers you get. Great prices but many get smushed in tight bunches.
